Currently, we're taking suggestions on a catchy name that has the pizazz of "Nuts and Boalts," but that isn't, well, Nuts and Boalts.

what's idiotic about creating a new blog for discussing boalt-related issues? if i learned anything from Shelanski's antitrust class, it's that competition and more consumer choice is good...
I like "No Boalts About It." I'll wait and see if any other suggestions roll in and then confer with my fellow Justices, but so far "No Boalts About It" is the frontrunner.

I think all the awards are up now. Also, the vast majority of the time, the prof contacts you.
Thanks for starting up a new blog (which I'm guessing is run by people who actually still attend Boalt). Competition is good.
12:51- Can you expand a little more on the manner of the prof contact?
I've received 3 awards in my career and only for one of them did the prof get in touch with me. I happened to be RAing for the prof at the time, so we were in contact pretty frequently anyway. The other two never said a word. Were they supposed to?
How about "Boalt from the Blue"?
I've gotten a phone call, an e-mail and one professor approached me in the hallway.
Hey. I'm an alum. Good on you for starting another blog--the other one has . . . issues. I haven't thought up a good name to suggest yet, but since the school is marginalizing the name "Boalt," maybe keeping that word out of it is the way to go.
Oh, and I can confirm that the professor almost never calls you when you get a P.

I second 10:40. this is SO lame. I give y'all about three weeks. At which point you will write an entire post about how they should update the dewey system used in the stacks and even your most loyal readers will have better things to do.
how is it "lame" that a bunch of Boalties want to create a blog? i suspect you're a regular contributor at N&B, 9:38PM...
I think this blog is on the right track... now, will you not have the same entrenched leadership structure and cult of personality that we see on N&B? Only time will tell...
